Hundreds of large sellers paused Amazon ads for 24 hours, citing ad billing changes, longer payout holds and a fuel surcharge.
CNBC reports that hundreds of large Amazon merchants, organized by MDS, held a 24-hour boycott of Amazon's advertising platform. Sellers said deducting ad costs from earnings and holding proceeds longer could drain their cash while tariffs and energy costs already weigh on margins. Amazon delayed the ad billing change to August 1 and said the changes bring a small group of sellers in line with most merchants.
National business press picked up sellers' concerns about ad billing, payout holds and the fuel surcharge, and Amazon moved the ad billing change to August 1.
